How to measure for Half Chaps or Gaiters.
Follow these simple steps while wearing your normal riding kit:
- Calf Circumference – Measure the widest part of your calf
- Rider Height – Know the approximate height of the rider
- Select Size – Use the Sizing Chart on the product page.
Tip: Our chaps have elasticated panels, so each size shows a range (e.g., 35–40 cm). The first number is the width unstretched, the second when fully stretched. Choose a size where your measurement falls in the middle of the range for a snug but flexible fit.

Product-Specific Notes:
Classic Suede Half Chaps: Soft, have a natural “give” with generous stretch panel.
All Purpose Neoprene Half Chaps: Very soft, stretchy, generous panels – ideal for everyday riding.
Cool Summer Half Chaps: Slightly less stretch – but with a generous stretch panel and perfect for warm weather.

Do not worry if the chaps or gaiters that you order do not fit quite right. We have a simple “no quibbles” exchange or return policy – provided the items have not been worn. Simply pop them back in the post using the Returns card and let us know on the card exactly how we can help. Alternatively we can chat through opitons on the phone.
Please note that because our chaps have elasticated panels, we give a range of calf-widths ie 35cm-40cm. The first number (here 35cm) is the width with no stretch. The second number (here 40cm) is the width when fully stretched . The chaps will fit well if your calf measurement falls within this range – but we would advise you to choose the size where your calf-width is in the middle of the range. In this way the elastic is working to give a snug fit but there is still some give for extra comfort and flexibility

- Saltos Gaiters are cross-lined for support and structure. They have a smaller stretch panel and give less than Half Chaps.

Yes. All Purpose Half Chaps, made from neoprene, offer the most stretch. Classic Suede “give” and have a generous stretch panel. Saltos Half Chaps, made from unlined leather, also “give” and have a generous stretch panel. Summer Cool also use a stretch panel. Saltos Gaiters are cross-lined for structure and style and stretch the least. They do have elastic panels either side of the rear zip to allow for flex and comfort. Check the sizing chart for each style.
